Introduces the common and specialty tools used in our industry and describe their proper use and handling. The instructors will discuss the variables each tool brings to the job at hand.

Demonstrates how adhesives work and why they are important to your customers' ultimate safety. It explains the proper use of urethane and its supporting products.

 

misc parts
Covers the wide variety of blocks, sealants, clips, dams, and fasteners available to the auto glass professional. The instruction explains the role of these parts and how to remove them from the vehicle quickly and easily.

Installation

installation
This module is "hands-on" and forms the core of our program. We show technicians the intricacies of proper auto glass installation through the Seven Steps of Installation. It covers the "dos" and "don’ts" of disassembly and installation, including clean up and safety procedures.

The installation of moveable auto glass is also covered in the hands-on portion. Moveable auto glass replacement requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to see a problem and determine the best course of action to solve that problem.

Hands On

troubleshooting
Learn proper prevention, diagnosis and repair procedures for correcting installation problems. Special tools for problem diagnosis and their proper use are discussed and taught.

Repair

windshield repair
Hands-on practice doing windshield repairs. A successful windshield repair is 20% equipment and 80% technician skill. We discuss:

  • The pre-qualification of the customer
  • The types of breaks
  • Repair resins
  • Basic repair procedures
  • Safety related issues
